Let’s face it: working from home is truly one of the best ways to live your life. It helps you to control the hours that you work, meaning that you can be easily flexible if you have a family, and it also means that if you work freelance then you don’t have to pay attention to any boss except for your own conscience. However, it can be hard to make sure that you stay healthy if you work from home. Here are a few tips on how to do it…
Get Out Of The House
First and foremost, make sure that you get out of your house on a regular basis. If you’ve chosen to work from home, you’re probably an introvert who’s totally okay with the concept of not being surrounded by people all the time, but that doesn’t mean that you don’t require any contact with other human beings at all. It’s important to make sure that you get out and you meet people. One way that most adults meet new friends is at work, so you should make sure that you still give yourself opportunities to do so. Start a class in the evenings, creative writing or pottery or French patisserie, and make sure that you keep talking to anyone that you get on well with there.
Start An Exercise Routine
It’s important to make sure that you get plenty of fresh air, so even if you have a lot of exercises that you like to do at home, like yoga in front of a video on your laptop or a series of push ups and sit ups that you do every morning, it’s still a good idea to motivate yourself into going out for a walk every day and making sure that you get plenty of fresh air. Not only will this decrease the likelihood of you getting headaches after spending the day hunched over your computer, but it’ll also be great for your back. You could also start a fitness class like zumba, yoga or pilates. Companies like Tai Chi Productions can provide some great tips on how to get started with certain exercises – and remember that if you want to work on your core and your balance, tai chi would be great for you.
Eat In Moderation
Finally, if you’re working at home then it can be extremely easy to start snacking all day. After all, you’re in very close proximity to your fridge! But it’s important that you eat in moderation so that you don’t start gaining weight. Eat a good breakfast like a smoothie along with granola, or maybe eggs and avocado on wholewheat toast, and make sure that any snacks you have between meals are both minimal and nutritional – try fruit like an apple or a banana or a handful of berries, or some carrot sticks and hummus. For dinner, make sure that you don’t over-eat – the most important thing to remember is to keep your portion size down. A few squares of chocolate won’t do you any harm but huge candy bars aren’t good for you at all.::::::::::::: - Chiino I don't do comments around here, so let's keep the conversation going on Twitter.
