If you’ve been around entrepreneurial circles for some time, you’ve properly heard and read a fair bit about the different types of “side hustles” that might be worth your time and energy to pursue. Back in my earliest days, I used to spend hours on my PC hunting down the best survey sites and claiming any cash I could by answering simple questions every day. Now I've moved onto much more advanced things, but I still love to go back and cash in on the endless opportunities out there.

In fact, there are all sorts of potential benefits to having a side hustle going at any given time, regardless of who you are. Scott Adams, creator of the Dilbert comics and sometime writer on success, reckons that side hustles can not only significantly increase your odds of being successful, but can also make life a good deal more enjoyable at the same time.

Here are a few reasons to have a side hustle, whoever you are.
1. Because you never know when a side hustle is going to yield tremendous return on investment and improve your life

Today, you may spend a bit of time investigating olymp trade account types. Tomorrow, you may be well on your way to making your fortune.

That’s the thing about side hustles; you just never know when a particular side hustle of yours is going to yield a tremendous return on investment that can massively improve and transform your life from top to bottom.

Admittedly, it’s not so likely that any given side hustle will turn you into the next overnight billionaire. But the point is that always having a side hustle going keeps those possibilities open.

Not only is this more productive than playing the lottery, but it can have a very positive effect on your mindset, too.
2. Because you become a more capable and insightful person, the more skills and experiences you obtain

In his book, “Range,” David Epstein makes a very compelling case that the more skills and experiences you obtain, the greater your chances of success in all sorts of different domains in life.

Running a side hustle inevitably expands your skillset, teaches you things you didn’t know before, and gives you plenty of practical experiences that you can use to your advantage later on. And if you make a habit of always having one side hustle going at a time, those benefits are simply magnified.

Regardless of whether you are sending in your CV for a certain job, or trying to make it as an entrepreneur, or are trying to provide additional value in your current job role, side hustles can help.

3. Because life is just more interesting that way

Life is, obviously, just more interesting when you are regularly doing things that you find interesting and motivating.

If you are going to go to the effort of working on a particular side hustle, it’s pretty much a given that you will actually find that particular thing interesting and will get some sort of positive emotional response from it, and be more efficient at it.

Maybe you really enjoy your day job, and maybe you really dislike it. If you really dislike it, a side hustle can serve as a counterbalance to keep you sane. And if you really enjoy it, a side hustle can serve as the icing on the cake.
