There are so many options when it comes to having your own car. You can opt for a second hand car that you buy outright in a private sale, but more often than not this can lead to problems with the car due to lack of information given by the previous owner. Private sales are tricky if you’ve not got any experience with cars to take with you. Having a car on finance is another option, but this often comes with large fees that can be difficult to keep up with. So that leaves you with the option of finding thousands of pounds to buy the car you want outright, or opting for the leasing method. But is it worth it? Here are some reasons why you should consider leasing a car the next time you’re looking to get a new one.
To start off, what is the difference between leasing and financing a car? With finance, you’re basically slowly buying the car off the dealership and this usually comes with high interest payments. Financing usually lasts over the course of 5 years and at the end of it you’ve bought your very own car. Leasing is, to put it simply, renting a car for a certain period of time. Like with anything that you buy or rent, renting usually works out cheaper, and the same goes for leasing a car. At the end of your agreed term you will return the car.
So what are the bonuses of leasing a car?
There are many perks of leasing rather than financing, and they go as follows:
- You can choose the car that you want as long as it’s within your budget. While this is the same for financing, you’re likely to be able to afford a nicer car leasing than you would financing. So, if you fancy an Audi a1, you’d be better off avoiding the financing route because it would cost you more than it would for an Audi a1 lease.
- You’re less likely to need a good credit history. While it’s still important, if you don’t make payments the company can simply take the car back. Financing is different because they’ve given you a loan and it’s much more complicated.
- At the end of your lease you can either renew the lease terms with your dealership, or choose a newer and better model. This means that every four years or so you’ve got yourself a new car to cruise around in!
- Any repairs or problems won’t be something that you have to deal with. Like if you’re renting a home, when something goes wrong your landlord has to deal with any problems and make repairs. This means much less expense for you to worry about.
As you can see, leasing a car seems like the more logical option if you’re looking for lower costs and still having an amazing car to drive around in!
