We all have passions. These are the things that we love to do, and that could be anything. From trading Pokemon cards to Football or even writing, your passion will be unique to who you are. This might seem like an odd question. After all, we’ve already established that we’re talking about things that you love to do. Right, but there’s a difference between something you love to do in your spare time and something that you are going to love when it is the center point of your life. This is what it’s going to take to get rich. If you only love it in your spare time, you need to think about turning it into a side hustle, and we have discussed that before.

But how do you know if your passion is strong enough to become the center point of your life? Well, think about it carefully. Think about whether you would be happy doing it every day. Even when you’re not doing it’s likely that your mind will be on it. While you won’t be completing it as a job, you might still be working on tasks related to it. If that still sounds like a dream come true, congratulations, your passion is strong enough, and you can use it to get rich.

 

Are You Talented?

This is a tricky question, but if you have a passion, you usually will need talent or skill. In most cases, this can be learned. With time, experience and dedication you can improve yourself until you reach the point where a passionate hobby can become a source of profit. But sometimes it does come naturally.

It’s important that you don’t trust someone else’s opinion when they tell you whether or not they have talent. Put it this way, let’s say your passion is writing. Well, there are very few people who would say that Stephenie Meyer is a skilled writer. In fact, her writing is all over the place. The same is true for J.K Rowling and many, many more, but it doesn’t matter. Someone believed in them, and all it really takes is one person. Right now the only person who needs to believe in your skills and your talent is you. The rest may one day follow. In your heart, you will know whether you have what it takes to succeed with your passion. And if you don’t, in most cases dedication and hard work will get you the rest of the way there.

 

Can You Accept Rejection?

It shouldn’t come as a surprise to you to learn that before you succeed, you will undoubtedly fail. Everyone who you have ever admired looked up to or wanted to be has failed at some point. Often, people who have found true success failed various times and learned from each one. If you can follow in their footsteps, then, you can get rich from a passion. But first, you need to be able to accept failure and rejection. Not everyone is going to believe in you, not everyone will want to buy your product or use your service. Nothing is universal. Nothing is loved by everyone so you will always have your critics regardless of your career or industry. You have to make yourself vulnerable, and you have to be strong enough to take the comments, the hits and yes even the praise. There are various ways to put yourself out there, and the tactic you take will depend on your chosen passion. For instance, you might be really passionate about films. If that’s the case, you can become a movie career. Get started by getting yourself on Youtube. There’s a fun fact about Youtube. Getting your first 2000 views is the hardest part. Once you reach that point, other people will find your videos, but you have to be willing to see that a video you made has zero views. You have to be ready to watch it slowly climb up, and you have to prepare yourself for the comments that could be left under that video.

Remember we mentioned you need to be ready for this to be the center point of your life? Well, one video won’t do it. You need to produce one a day to get noticed with quality content. And once you start producing one a day you need to constantly work to improve them, edit them and make them better than they were before. Youtube is just one example for one passion.

There are plenty of others. For instance, it’s possible that your dream is to become a world-class football legend. If that’s the case, you have to find a football league, join it and start playing. You won’t have crowds, but you might one day have a scout come along and see your skill. If they recognize something special in you, then you’ve nearly reached the point where your passion becomes profitable. But you have to get yourself out there first.

 

Paying Your Dues

Here’s a fun adventure idea for the people who are eager to see what it takes to make your dream come true. Go to Hollywood and explore, the restaurants, the cafes and bus stores. Head to Universal Studios – the theme park and take a good look at the staff. You’ll be amazed how many of them you recognize from walk-on parts on TV shows, little side characters, and even some semi-famous stars. These guys and girls know what it takes to pay their dues, and they are ready to take that chance. The sad fact is that most of these dreams just aren’t going to come true. If everyone succeeded in Hollywood, the world would be a strange place. But if you aren’t willing to go out there, get the awful job and work to pay for the acting classes or be in the right place for the auditions, you’re not going to make it.

The same is true for every career based on a passion. You might love blogging and dream of one day making your blog something that pays for a luxury lifestyle. It could happen, but while you wait for it, you are going to need to take rubbish side jobs that don’t matter to you. You’re going to have to make sure that you can pay to optimize your blog with a professional service. There are a range of side jobs that you can take on while working to make a blog successful.

 

It Is About Who You Know

That’s not a throwaway line. You really do have to know people to succeed. If you don’t know people, then you’re never going to make it because someone else certainly will. So, you might be against someone who was friends with the guy who you need to impress to get a literary agent. You can see how this is a problem. But how do you build the networks you need? Well, online is a great place to start. Connect with key individuals in your industry by following them, retweeting and join their groups. Eventually, they will notice you. You need to attend industry events as well like tradeshows or book exhibitions or writer workshops. All these are examples of how you can connect and rub shoulders with the right people who you want on your team when you’re trying to make that dream come true.

Don’t think you can make it on your own, you can’t. If you have a passion to become an author is a great example. In the past authors, sat in their room and typed until a book was finished. When it was, it would immediately be sent off to an editor in the hope of getting it published. These days, the first couple of chapters are released online, and they are judged by fellow writers in a community. This is also the point where a writer could get noticed and might get picked up by a literary agent.
