The world of get-paid-to is a funny one. Yes, there is plenty of opportunity to make money with these sites, but there’s a lot of instability that comes with it. Anyone that’s been involved in this world for as long as I have will tell you that their favourite site to earn extra money on 10 years ago isn’t the same as their best from five years ago, neither of which make your top three today. Rules change. Payout redemption values alter. Nothing stays the same for long.

As it goes, my absolute #1 way to get paid 10 years ago doesn’t exist anymore. I maintained an account well after I stopped using it, but they didn’t even email its users to let them know when they were shutting up shop. That’s just one example, but there are plenty of others.

When I’m talking about get-paid-to, this includes:

Or any other site that holds on-site earnings in an online wallet until you request that the money is sent to you.

Most people that use these sites are signed up to multiple. In fact, I would be shocked if anyone involved in any of these things has only ever signed up for a single service and hasn’t tried out a handful along the way. This being the case, you need to be really organised in the way that you go about using the sites and – most importantly – how you get paid by them.

Some have automated systems that pay as soon as you reach a certain level (£5, £10, £20 or something like that). However, most will leave it up to you to decide when you’re going to pay yourself. Often enough, when you complete a task and when the funds hit your online wallet won’t be at the same time, so you have to go back and ask for that money to be sent to you (by PayPal, bank transfer or converted into a gift card).

When I say that you need to be organised, I’m talking about spreadsheets for everything. Make sure you’re aware how much you need for each site to qualify to get your money back and the date that you’ve requested cashouts in the past (to make sure the money does actually get to you). If you’re tracking your earnings this way, I would advise that you come up with a plan of how often to cash out.

It’s most likely going be one of these three:

  • Daily
  • Weekly
  • Monthly

My advice is to cash out as soon as you hit your redemption points. Don’t wait around, because some of these sites vanish out of nowhere. It’s best if you cash out in the same intervals for all. This being the case, most won’t have many sites that they can do daily or weekly redemptions on. Monthly redemptions seem like the most sensible way to manage this.

At the same time each month (I would opt for the beginning) log into all the places where you make money online and make sure all funds are on their way to you. It’s often enough, but isn’t overkill. Plus – checking in on it monthly is going to inspire you to make even more for next time.

Now crack on with it.
