Where would we be with money bloggers? They teach us so much about how to spend our cash better, how to exploit loopholes, and how to do more with what you have. As someone that fits into the ‘money blogger' category, I've proven that I can offer advice on a lot of things. One thing I can't offer support for, however, is saving money.
It's what's expected and what many specialise in, but i just can't share info on skimping, being thrifty and the like. It's an important distinction to make. Although I may practice some of the things others talk about, I don't want to engage in conversations about yellow stickered refrigerated goods at Tesco. Nothing personal.
Making money is the thing around here. Yes, you'll get bits about how to lower business expenses for productivity, but I'm not the person to tell you about how to lower your car insurance renewals or when to switch gas suppliers.
Here are a few reasons why you shouldn't expect much money saving content on this here blog:
1. I am a reseller
Fundamental issue right here. I buy things from one retailer and sell at another. Making someone, somewhere pay more than they need to for a product or service. Every day. Ethically, I can't be about money saving and do such a thing.
2. I Don't Read That Stuff
As I mentioned in a previous post, I work with bloggers in various niches. So I know how broad this game is, and I'm well aware of the good content being created. It's just not my thing, so if I wouldn't go out of my way to read it myself, I couldn't post about it.
3. There are better people at it
Off the last point, thing change so frequently, so you need to be on the ball. I'm not passionate enough to participate, never mind crowd the space. I'm here to fill gaps, rather than flood them.
4. Most Blog Posts are Conversation Extensions
I talk about music and making money too damn much. This is why I blog about both of them so much. If I'm not inspired, it's not gonna come. If I wouldn't chat to you about it in an everyday situation, I'm unlikely to find space for it on the blog.
5. Thrifty Thinking Stopped Me Making Money
The thrifty mindset can throw you off sometimes, and it was a definite barrier stopping me spending money to make more. Since I overcame that, everything's on the up. There are benefits too, obviously, but I needed a change.
6. Income Generation is Important
The more time I've got to focus on one thing, the better the content. Missing money saving out means I can dedicate more time towards sharing just how many opportunities there are to earn cash outside traditional work.
7. Making money is sexy. Saving money is not
Facts.
Big ups to all the ones that do this stuff, and do it well. My thing's making money. Head over the Earning and Reselling sections to see how to squeeze more money out, either in your spare time or as a full-time business.
