As we all know, there are many opportunities out there to earn money. Life isn’t so much about finding opportunities as it is about seizing them. We know there are ways to make a lot of cash, but not everyone grasps their chance and actually makes it happen.

For me, earning money is all about doing something you enjoy and getting paid for it. I find that content writing fits directly into this category. A lot of people enjoy writing, so why don’t you take a chance and try to get paid for doing so.

Of course, you can always set up your own blog and try to earn money through advertising revenue and affiliate programs. However, you can earn a lot more if you set yourself up as a writer who will produce content for others in exchange for payment.

When done correctly, this idea can earn you a lot of money. Speaking of which, here’s my guide to help you do just that:

Set Yourself Up As A Business

You will find it much easier to earn money if you set yourself up as a business rather than just a casual individual. What I mean by this is you take everything very seriously, just like you’re setting up a company. Create a name for your content writing service, get some logo design done, and set up a website. All of these things will make you look like a very professional service, as opposed to some random person offering to write content.

Creating this air of professionalism is key as it will enable you to find more clients and earn more money. You need to think about your target market, who are most likely to need content? More often than not, it will be businesses looking for website content or articles for their blogs. So, they’ll be looking for a service they can trust, one that looks professional. If you’ve got your own logo, website, and name, you look professional and trustworthy; you provide a good first impression. You’ve already given yourself a little head start compared to if you just joined a random freelance network and tried to find work. You’ve put your service out there for all to find, and it will be easier to generate customers.

Fill Your Website With Content

As part of my first piece of advice, I told you to set up a website. Now, it goes without saying that this site needs to look as sleek as possible. As well as this, it must be built around certain keywords that are relevant to your service. You need to include ‘content writing’ and ‘content writer’ in the meta descriptions and title tags, etc. This helps improve the SEO of your site, and you will rank higher in search engines, making your service more visible.

But, as well as this, you need to fill your website with content. What I mean by this is you need to show examples of your content writing. You can do this in two different ways. First, you can have a section on your site that showcases any previous content writing you’ve produced. Secondly, make sure your site has its own blog for you to produce content in your spare time. Not only will this blog show off your skills and knowledge, but it will also be used to house more keywords and attract more visitors to your site. Again, this can help you gain more customers.

Spend Money To Make Money

When you’re so obsessed with trying to make money, you almost become very reluctant to part with any. However, if you want to make money, you need to spend a little. Don’t think of it as spending, think of it as investing in your service. The question is, what are you investing in?

Well, it goes back to what I was saying about improving your rank in search engines. If you organise your site properly, you can do this naturally and appear high up in the organic results. However, if you want to gain even more coverage, you should invest in PPC advertising. This is where you bid on keywords relating to your service – in this case, ‘content writing’, etc. – and your website appears as a result above all the organic ones. Paid search results are often seen before any other results and can improve your visibility, leading to more traffic.

To end this piece, I want to sum things up for you. First and foremost, treat this as a business venture and be professional. Secondly, put lots of time and effort into your website and improving SEO. Finally, invest in advertising to gain more exposure and draw in more traffic, leading to more customers and more money!
