The pandemic changed the workforce in a way many of us never anticipated. Where most of us were previously working full time in the office, COVID 19 caused many of us to have to work at home.

Now that restrictions are lifting for many over the world, many business owners are considering bringing people back to the office full time, but some have decided to offer a more flexible approach.

If you are working for a company who is offering you a more flexible approach to working, you might consider not going back to the office at all. If you are undecided, here are some of the signs that you might be better off staying home.

You love being at home

The first reason you should consider working remotely is the simple fact that you love being at home. Office life is great for some people, but if you are a real home body the idea of working in an office might not be ideal for you. If you enjoy being in your own space with your family, remote working is a great idea.

You get more time with family

Speaking of family – one of the biggest downsides of being in the office for work is missing out on time with your family. Office working hours are usually pretty strict and this will often mean that you don’t get the time to spend with your loved one during the week. For a better work life balance, working at home gives you more freedom and you’ll be around your family more.

You hate the commute

Commuting to work is one of the most annoying things in adult life. Whether you work in the city centre and have to get the train or you have had a bad experience commuting in the past resulting in contacting intelligent car accident lawyers – commuting can be a drag. This is why if you hate your commute to work you can consider instead not commuting at all. By staying at home you can wake up later, enjoy your coffee and breakfast, and start working when you are ready to.

You’re more productive at home

Most people have a unique way of working, and some people are great at working in an office setting surrounded by people. If you prefer being left alone to your work though, this is a sign that working remotely is ideal for you. By working at home, you will be able to control your own work schedule and you won’t have people interrupting you all the time for useless tasks or small talk. For independent workers, being at home is sometimes key.

You have the perfect setup

If you have a spare room in the house with a bright window, space for your desk, and lots of colourful art on the wall- you don’t need to go anywhere to work! There is nothing better than having a tailor made workspace for your job, and by working at home you can make your office space perfect for you and your needs.
