Why Do You Need Constant Content Ideas?
The people that need constant content ideas know exactly who they are. I’m talking about all the people that run businesses/operate side income streams through creative endeavours or need to push regular marketing messages out potential customers. This goes for everyone that comes up with their own print-on-demand asset concept, everyone that manages social media accounts for ecommerce brands, and for all of those that generates revenue from publishing content.
Everyone in that position needs to seriously consider putting measures in place to ensure that they’re able to successfully come up with fresh ideas every single day. Believe me.
Gather Reliable Inspiration
I think that this one is a real confidence-builder. There’s no shame in saying that you get a little inspiration from others, and it’s no different with this either. Whether it’s Instagram, Pinterest, music or whatever else, make sure you stockpile an ever-changing resource from which to come up with ideas.
It’s a lot easier to come up with concepts when you have working ones to use as a reference point. Coming up with your own from the absolute darkness is a struggle and there’s no point in putting yourself through it when you don’t have to.
Make a Plan
When I say a plan, I mean it. It doesn’t require much pre-preparation, but it just needs you to be disciplined. In my case, I just have a Trello card that requires me to tick off once I’ve come up with x4 social posts, x2 blog post titles, x3 t-shirt designs or something else like that each day.
As part of this plan, you need to know where you’re storing your ideas, when to export them and when you’re going to turn these ideas into whatever end result they need to be.
The stronger your plans are, the more effective this whole process is going to be. You just need to make sure that you put together plans that you know you can confidently say you can stick to for the foreseeable future. Over time you may need to adapt the plans, but just make sure that the foundation is intact.
Just Do It
Unfortunately, you’re not going to be in the mood to do this every day. You’re going to want days off from it. The reason why you have to stick to it – at least during work days – is because once you break the seal and decide not to do it once, it will happen again and again. Commit to it and execute that plan.
Ultimately, the only reason why you’re doing this is so that you can be as organised as possible in the future.
In my own plan, I force myself to come up with excess ideas for each thing each day, so I’ve got more than enough content for the future. It means that you have leeway both when you accidentally forget to scribble down an idea, or if you end up have a few dud ideas in and amongst what you have in the stash.
So my advice to you is: just do it. Stop messing about and crack on with it. You will appreciate that you did it in the future, and it will make it a lot easier for you to organise your ideas and bring them to life.
